The North Central South Dakota Children’s choir will present two concerts in April as it winds down on its first year in existence.
Thirty-eight members from around the area have spent the past eight months working up a number of pieces and performing at many venues both locally and statewide.
The third through seventh-graders from Mobridge and Selby perform fall and winter concerts in both communities. The choir also performed at the Parade of Lights, caroled at Santa Land, and they were a featured performing group at the South Dakota Music Educators Fall conference in Rapid City.
The choir will present two performances of their Spring Pops Concert, one in Selby on Saturday, April 27 at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and their final concert at the Mobridge-Pollock Middle School Theater on Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. Songs they will perform include “Stuck Like Glue” by Sugarland, “Waka Waka” by Shakira, “Pure Imagination” as performed on Glee by Willy Wonka, “Inscription of Hope” by Dream Keeper, “Beautiful Day” by U2, and “Blackbird” by the Beatles.
Both spring concerts will be free to the public.
