Tractor-poleAn accident on Railroad Street knocked the power out in east Mobridge, Thursday, June 27, when a tractor used in a haying operation, hit a guide wire to a utility pole, knocking it over and causing a power outage.

At 6:28 p.m., a caller reported a power pole down on Railroad Street. There was a small fire from the downed wires, but Mobridge Fire Chief Brad Milliken said the fire burned itself out and the fire crews stayed on the scene for traffic control and safety concerns.

The power to homes and businesses on the east side of town was out up to an hour and half.

The Mobridge Police Department, Volunteer Fire Department and a crew from Montana Dakota Utilities were at the scene.
