Officers in another high-speed pursuit

For the third time in less than a month, the Mobridge Police Department was involved in a high speed pursuit in the early morning on Tuesday, May 19.
According to Mobridge Police Chief Shawn Madison, at around 1 a.m., officers on the west side of Mobridge checked the speed of an eastbound vehicle at the posted speed limit. Moments later, an officer on the east side of town radar-checked the same vehicle traveling at 80 mph within city limits.
That officer tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver, 31-year-old Sidney Bearsheart, did not heed the officers lights or siren. Given permission to pursue the vehicle on U.S. Highway 12, the officer reported speeds reaching 100 mph during the incident.
Bearsheart did pull over near the Stahlman Apiary, about two miles east of Glenham.
He was charged with aggravated eluding, no driver’s license and there is a possibility of other traffic related charges according to Madison. He was transported to the Walworth County Jail.
Walworth County Sheriff’s officers also assisted in the arrest
