Positive COVID-19 cases top 100


The South Dakota Department of Health, Wednesday, Sept. 23, held some bad news for Walworth County as reported the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the state increased by 445. The number of South Dakotans who have contracted the virus now stands at 16,324, with 3,108 active cases.
In Walworth County, the number of positive cases recorded in the county jumped over the century mark at 102 and 69 of those cases reported as recovered. There are now 33 active cases of the virus in the county.
The number of South Dakotans who have died from COVID-19 remained at 202. The total number of South Dakotans who have been hospitalized with the virus increased to 1,367, with 192, the highest number yet, currently hospitalized.
The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Corson County was reported at 89 with 74 recovered.
In Dewey County the number of cases increased to 125 cases with 84 reported as recovered.
The number of Campbell County residents testing positive increased to 16 with six residents reported as recovered.
The number of Potter County residents who have tested positive jumped to 40 with 27 listed as recovered.
The Department of health reports 16,324 residents are listed recovered.
