TEF moves ahead with annual raffle


The Tiger Education Foundation met on Monday, Feb. 9, at the fellowship hall of UCC.
Members agreed to hold the Second Chance Raffle again during the annual Mobridge Chamber of Commerce Surf n Turf fundraiser. The main purpose of the raffle is to raise funds for undergraduate grants. Tickets will be available from board members.
Four students received grants of $50 each for the Elementary Honors Choir. They were Leah Overland, Madelyn Jungwirth, Ava Stoick and Landyn Henderson.
Correspondence was read and a financial report given by treasurer Laurie Bauer. She reported the checkbook balance at $12,681.49, a Paypal account of $12,406.01, and the investment account of $46,831.90 for a total of $71,919.40. Bauer also reported the South Dakota Community Foundation funds currently at $179,572.17. This provides TEF information on scholarship monies available.
The board also discussed the next issue of Tiger Tracks of potential articles and pictures.
The next regular meeting will be held on March 9, 2015, 5 p.m. at UCC.
