Three more COVID-19 cases in Walworth County


The South Dakota Department of Health report for Wednesday, Feb. 24,  the number of new positive COVID-10 cases jumped back to triple digits in the state with 263 new cases reported.

The report 183 confirmed and 80 probable positive cases in the report.

South Dakotans hospitalized with the virus is at 102 with the number of South Dakotans ever hospitalized with the virus is at 6,570. There are 108,053 recovered cases recorded in the report.

The number of South Dakotans reported to have died increased by one to 1,864. The number of active COVID-19 in the state dropped to 1,891.

In Walworth County there were three new cases reported on Wednesday, with 722 reported positive cases and 693 of those cases reported as recovered. The number of active cases in the county rose by two to 13. Fifteen Walworth County residents have been reported to have died as a result of the virus.

There were no new positive COVID-19 case in Corson County keeping that number at 467 with 451 recovered. Twelve Corson County residents have been reported to have died as a result of the virus.

There were seven more positive cases reported in Dewey County, with the number of cases increasing to 1,411 with 1,372 reported as recovered. Twenty-three Dewey County residents have died after contracting the virus.

In Campbell County there were no new positive cases reported holding the positive case number to 129 with 125 of the cases listed as recovered. Four Campbell County residents have been reported to have died from the virus.

There were no new positive cases reported in Potter County on Wednesday, so the number of positive cases stands at 371 with 356 of those listed as recovered. Three Potter County residents are listed as have died as a result of the virus.
