Warrant search nets five arrests on drug charges

Editor’s note: Early Wednesday morning, it was reported that law enforcement officers arrested Stan Schily, 59, of Mobridge in connection with the investigation of illegal drugs in Mobridge. 

Mobridge Police Captain Al Bohle reported an warrant was executed at Schily’s home on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in his arrest on charges of possession and or distribution of a controlled substance.

The Mobridge Police Department arrested four individuals after discovering Sunday, June 29, there was drug activity in home on First Avenue West at which they were serving outstanding warrants.

Mobridge resident Aaron Dwight Sackrieter, 34; Spring Echo Gullickson, 37, of Rapid City; Luis Alberto Salazar, 28, of Bakersfield, Calif.; and Andy Eduardo Sandoval, 18, also of Bakersfield were arrested on multiple charges. During the search of the residence officers seized more than $12,000 in cash, methamphetamines, marijuana, a loaded gun, and paraphernalia.

According to Mobridge Police Captain Al Bohle, the MPD, with assistance from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and the Corson County Sheriff’s Office executed multiple warrants at the First Avenue West residence on Sunday.

This action was the result of the discovery of evidence of drug activity during the serving of two warrants for the arrest of an adult male who occupied the home.

The officer serving the warrants followed procedure and requested multiple search warrants for the residence.

The four made their initial court appearance on Monday, June 30, and cash bond was set at $5,000 for Sackreiter and $15,000 for the others. They are currently being held in the Walworth County Jail on charges of possession to distribute narcotics, according to Walworth County State’s Attorney Jamie Hare. He said there is a possibility that those charges will be enhanced as reports from law enforcement are completed.

Other charges could include possession with intent to sell within a drug free zone (school) and possession of a loaded firearm in the commission of felony.

Hare said he expects more movement in the case after the Fourth of July holiday.
