You Decide: Attacks at events threaten free speech

Antifa is a group who has been educated and is being protected by our educational institutions. It is also defended and protected by our major leftist city governments and much of the media.
Recently, a group in Boston wanted to have a public rally. The Boston Free Speech Rally spokesman John Medlar said his group absolutely disavows white supremacy and they were dedicated to a peaceful rally that denounced political violence. He wanted people talking and listening to each other again instead of exchanging fists on the streets. He said his group carefully vetted speakers that included people with varied backgrounds. These included supporters of Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein as well as right- wing figures.
None of this made any difference to opponents who targeted them as racists and Nazis. About 15,000 to 40,000 counter protesters contributed to violence that forced police to cancel their rally and remove them in police vans for their own protection.
Patriot Prayer scheduled a Free Speech rally in San Francisco. An amateur explanation of them is available at “facebook.com/PatriotPrayerUSA” This is definitely a homegrown group. They believe in free speech, freedom, love, Christianity and civic involvement. They oppose deception, white supremacy, physical violence and the violence of Antifa.
The leftist Mayor of San Francisco criticized them and failed to insure adequate police protection. He said, “That’s why certain voices found it very difficult to have their voices heard today.” They decided to cancel the rally but their leader, Joey Gibson, and a few others went to the site with their hands up but they were still violently attacked and chased from the site by Antifa.
An anti-Marxism rally was scheduled in Berkeley and was also cancelled. Some of the people that showed up were beaten and chased from the site. One reporter covered one participant to protect him from continued violence. This televised one-sided violence horrifies much of America.
A Bay Area TV anchor has said, “This is what happened to me today, think about it. And make your own decision. I experienced hate first hand today… It came from these people dressed in all black at a protest in Berkeley. Ironically they were all chanting about NO hate.”
The attacks on these events are a direct threat against our constitutional system. The First Amendment guarantees us freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. When you attack these, you are attacking our Constitution.
